[roc-info] ROC Adventure run, June 29 at Ellison Park

Hello,

The next ROC event will be June 29th at the roadside shelter in  
Ellison park.  As this event will be an "Adventure Run", a type of  
event many may not be familiar with, I'm sending this info out a  
little earlier than normal, with more detail included in the attached  
PDF file.

Basically there will be 3 different events run that day, so people of  
all levels of competition can come out and enjoy the day.

Short course - a 20 control score-o (you don't have to ge them all,  
get a few, get them all, it's up to you!)

Then 2 different lengths of an adventure run, with both having a  
similiar format.  Basically you will find a mix of disciplines in  
this event...some trail running, some "regular" orienteering, and  
some score-o segments (though maybe with a bit of a twist :)  The  
shorter of the adventure runs will be 10km-12km...the longer will be  
16km-18km...and there is no limit on the vertical climb in in both :)

All course will have a four hour time limit. Anyone overtime is  
simply disqualified and will not be ranked,

Registration starts at 10
Mandatory pre-race meeting at 10:45
Map handout and start at 11:00

LONG PANTS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE DOING THE ADVENTURE RUN   
AS ONE SEGMENT OF TRAIL HAS OVERGROWN SIGNIFICANTLY IN THE LAST FEW  
WEEKS!  IT'S LESS THAN .25 MILES, BUT IT'S ROUGH!
