[roc-info] CNYO Sprint Adventure '09

Quick reminder that this year's installment of the CNYO "Sprint Adventure"  
race is scheduled for this Sat., Dec. 5 at The Nordic Center (XC network 
across  from Greek Peak, NY). This last regularly scheduled CNYO event for 
2009 has  a mass start at 12 noon sharp. This special event includes four 
separate  "stages" consisting of a 1.7 km run around Hope Lake, a choice of 
either a  shorter but more difficult navigating O loop (~1.2km) or a longer but  
simple navigation O loop (~1.8km), a 2.9km simple Mt. Bike loop (no snow 
this  year for the snowshoes) and finally a Score-O segment that should measure 
out at  around 4-5km. If Mt. Bikes aren't your cup of tea you can run the 
third stage  but will be at a distinct disadvantage to those who do.
Prizes for overall winner, top age class finishers and quickest individual  
stage times will be given. We'll be there by 10 for early registration and 
some  basic Orienteering instruction for newbies and the grill will be 
started  for an afternoon cookout so bring your favorite grilling goodies. Check
