Hi ROC -

I see on your website there will be a Canal Cities Orienteering Festival 
later this summer. Sounds fun! I'll have to put it on my summer radar 
and see if our family could come!  This e-mail is in regard to a Rogaine 
our club is hosting in August and wanted to share the information with 
you and your members.  The details are below:

The Black Hills Orienteering Club is pleased to share that we are 
hosting the second annual Dakota Rogaining Championships on August 
20-21, 2011. This year's event will be held again in Custer State Park 
-- with some sweet terrain and much diversity to keep everyone 
entertained. The Park has limited the number of teams to 40 while 
conducting an elk tracking study so we recommend registering sooner than 
later.

If you haven't been to western South Dakota, you will be pleasantly 
surprised. With participants from 14 different states and provinces, 
last year's event was very favorably received. The Black Hills are quite 
diverse with prairie on the east slope, deciduous and pine forests, 
various rock formations (granite, sandstone, and limestone), and 
undulations to boot. Harney Peak is the highest point in the U.S. east 
of the Rocky Mountains. Custer Sate Park is one of the largest state 
parks in the U.S. Nearby attractions include Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse 
Memorial, Wind Cave National Park, badlands National Park and Deadwood.

members. We would love to have you visit!

P.S. BHOC has applied to host the World Rogaining Championships in 2014. 
This August would be a great opportunity to scope out the Black Hills, 
if our site is selected....
