This Wednesday evening, June 8, at 7:30 PM, two ROC members, Erik Pieh
and Elsbeth Ronnander, will present a program about their 470-mile canoe
journey from Rochester, NY to the Chesapeake Bay. This illustrated talk
will be held as part of ADK's monthly meeting in the Eisenhart
Auditorium at the Rochester Museum and Science Center. Hopefully some
ROC members can attend and give them support. At 6:30 PM there is a
Gear Exchange before this presentation.

Also if someone would be interested in saying a few words about the
upcoming Canal Cities Festival including ROC's portion of this event,
the Convention, call or email me 585-329-2184 or slomker at frontiernet.net
<mailto:slomker at frontiernet.net> for more information. There will be
fliers available too.
This coming Saturday, June 11, the Genesee Valley Chapter of ADK will be
hosting the Annual ADK 2011 EXPO at Mendon Ponds Park Beach Area from 9
AM to 4 PM. ROC has always had a table and a beginners' course to
promote orienteering at this wonderful day of workshops and outdoor
activities both on land and water. Test paddle the latest in kayaks and
canoes on the pond, meet representatives of outdoor clubs and
organizations, and learn new skills at the many booths and exhibits.
IT'S FREE SO BRING THE FAMILY AND HAVE A FUN FILLED OUTDOORS DAY.

If you are planning to come, stop by ROC's site along the path to the
beach.
For more information on either of these activities you can check out
ADK's website www.adk-gvc.org <http://www.adk-gvc.org>
