Just a reminder about the meet tomorrow! (To be preceded by a compass
skills workshop.)

It's been a rainy few days, and it is indeed supposed to rain some more
tomorrow, but the forecast calls for the rain to stop right around 4-5
pm, just in time for the meet!

The starting location is Hawthorne Shelter. The schedule is:

  * Compass skills workshop: 5:30-6:00
  * Registration for the orienteering courses opens at 5:45.
  * The White (beginner) course can start any time between 6:00 and
6:45. The White course has 9 controls and is 1.5 km straight-line
    distance.
  * The Score-O will be a mass start at 6:30, with a 60-minute time limit.

Once again, as is usual for Genesee Valley Park, the theme is "bridges"!
There are three linear bodies of water that can be crossed: The Genesee
River, the Erie Canal, and Red Creek. There are a total of 12 bridges in
the mapped area over these bodies of water that could be realistically
used in doing the Score-O course. It's unlikely that any one person will
utilize all of them, but anyone visiting all or most of the controls on
the Score-O will likely use a large majority of them.

The Score-O consists of 29 controls, each one worth 1 point. The penalty
for being late is 1 point per minute or fraction of a minute. All of the
White controls are also on the Score-O course, so if you're not highly
experienced but want a bit more adventure than White has to offer, on
the Score-O you can do all of the White controls if you choose, plus as
many more as time permits.

Hope to see many of you out there!
