Attached is a summary of the ROC Sprint Series, with one event left
(this Saturday at Highland Park).

Here is a nice summary of the Sprint Series to date, written by Steve
Tylock:

The ROC 2009 Sprint Series is coming to a dramatic conclusion. Mike
Lyons leads the Male Open competition, but three other competitors have
the potential to take that position. Rob Stevens, Sergey Dobretsov, and
Rob Holmes could all reach more than the current 32 leading points with
a win. With three high places, Rob S and Sergey are well positioned -
win and they're in the top position. With a setback at Seneca, Rob H
needs to win and get a whole lot of help. Mike controls his fate
however - the only way he doesn't share the top spot is if he wins and
Rob S comes in second. With only two events in his pocket, Nate Lyons is
out of the top spot but can play the spoiler - by finishing ahead of
other competitors he can lower the points they'll get for the last race
and tighten things up. Tyler Borden and Steve Tylock have battled to
push the leaders and it looks like the one that finishes ahead of the
other in this last race will come out on top.

With the seven of them battling through the season, it's no wonder that
things are still up in the air.

Stina Bridgeman has a lock on the win in the lightly competitive Female
Open division.

Three competitors lead the Male Masters divisions, and in order to win,
they'll have to compete in this last event. Randy McGarvey leads with
two wins, but Don Winslow is chasing with some solid performances. Dick
Detwiler trails, but has two wins in two outings.

No competitor has competed in more than one event in the Female Masters
and Male Veterans categories, so anyone could show up at this last event
to pick up the win.

And finally, Zachary Lyons has wrapped up the Male Junior classification
with four solid wins this season.

The series has had different course setters and meet directors over the
summer, and all of the competitors that have volunteered to set courses
or direct an event are well placed in the standings. They earn the
average finish for the event they volunteered for, but did not compete in.

I don;t think we could have scripted a better conclusion for the season.

See you at Highland where we'll settle this for 2009!
